Tamarind is a sticky, sour-tasting fruit that grows in large brown pods. Tamarind paste is just the fruit (separated from the pod and seeds) made into a ready-to-use cooking paste. Tamarind has a flavourful sour taste with a hint of sweetness which is used as a replacement of lemon and vinegar. Organic tamarind paste by 24Mantra is free from pesticides and chemicals. One tea spoon of this tamarind paste is equivalent to half a lemon sized tamarind. Use this tamarind paste in your recipe for tangy taste of tamarind. Reduce salt in your cooking as this paste contains some salt.
