24 Mantra Himalayan Salt Crystal (Rock Salt)
Himalayan salt is a natural rock salt. It is present as red, orange, purple coloured rock deposits on the Himalayan ranges adjoining India and Pakistan. Apart from sodium chloride, they contain many other salts of calcium, iron, potassium, magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc, selenium, vanadium, phosphorus, chromium in minute quantities. On mining, halite rocks are pulverized and sorted and graded to different sizes. Crystal colours, though largely pink, vary from absolute white to dark maroon depending on the presence of other metallic salts. It tastes salty and will solubilize in water. Trace quantities of insoluble matters are also present due to calcium salts. Himalayan salt can be used in place of table salt. This is a wholesome salt.
