Sector Raw Mango & Chilli is Living Root Beverages’ second flavoured gin from founder Bharat Bhagnani, conceived as the deliberate opposite of the brand’s Hibiscus & Peach. It’s built on the same balanced base of juniper, cubeb berries, Cochin ginger, turmeric, coriander, angelica and orris root, with fresh Bijapur lemon, Valencia orange and grapefruit distilled separately before blending, but trades florals for the tartness of raw mango and a light hit of red chilli, a nod to Indian summers. It opens green and tangy with raw mango and citrus, juniper underneath, before a gradual chilli warmth builds through the mid-palate without overpowering the fruit. Bottled at 40% ABV and distilled in Goa. Serve chilled over ice, or shake it into a gimlet for a sharp, slightly sweet cocktail with a kick.
